This past weekend I had the opportunity to coordinate a once in a lifetime event; The Reunion for former S&A Corp. (Steak and Ale and Bennigan's) employees. This idea originated from a Facebook page started almost a year ago by a lady out of Florida hoping to reunite old friends. Within a week there were over 300 hits from people who wanted to come together and celebrate the history of two of Norman Brinker's most iconic brands.
From day one of my involvement, I was captivated by this group of individuals. Even though the restaurants are gone, the culture and passion still exist 30 years later. All cultivated from one man, Norman Brinker.
I'm often asked what I like most about event planning. My answer is always the same: "It's the people." This past weekend I was reminded why I love my job so much. Thank you Norman Brinker!
